Story Behind the Painting

Washington, D.C. is often portrayed in stark marble and sharp lines—but I wanted to capture it the way it feels in fleeting, beautiful moments. One painting features the Washington Monument standing quietly at the end of the National Mall; the other, the Jefferson Memorial reflected in the Tidal Basin, surrounded by soft spring blooms.

Both are bathed in hues of pink, green, and pale blue—gentle, atmospheric, and alive with light. This set is my love letter to D.C. as a living, breathing place—not just a symbol, but a city full of human rhythm, history, and grace.

These miniatures hold a lot of heart in a small space. Side by side, they speak of memory, place, and the magic of catching the light just right.
