"On the Range"- ORIGINAL WORK
My grandparents had a large farm in Rose, Oklahoma. To get to the farm you would drive on a dirt road past the Blue Hole, and turn where the tree looks like a "V". Drive through one person's property, get out of the truck to open 3 gates, and then you have arrived. Their farm was quite literally in the "middle of nowhere". My memories of the farm are faint, but what I do remember are the sunsets. My grandma and grandpa would sit outside on the bench swing, with a glass of sweet tea and listen to the locust as the sun went down. The smell of the fresh farm air, and the sweet summer grass are seared into my memory forever.
